Similar to Beech but faster to establish – soft green leaves turn bronze in autumn and are retained through winter. Tolerant of damp soils. Grow on its own or in a mixed hedge. Also can be grown as a pleached hedge (hedge on stilts). RECOMMENDED SPACING FOR HEDGE: Single Row- 3 plants per metre, Double Row- 5 plants per metre.
